West Palm Beach (July 2016) – Amity “Mitty” Barnard has joined the law firm of Corbett, White, Davis and Ashton, P.A. as a full-time associate, bringing with her six years of environmental consulting experience and two years of environmental and land use litigation and policy experience.
Ms. Barnard has dedicated her professional and academic careers to understanding and resolving environmental and land use issues throughout the State of Florida. Her experience ranges from due diligence environmental assessment and remediation experience to climate change, sustainability and sea level rise planning.
“Mitty’s extensive experience with environmental issues will be extremely beneficial to the firm and our clients, especially those dealing with land use issues and litigation related to environmental concerns,” said Keith Davis, a partner and shareholder with Corbett, White, Davis and Ashton, P.A. “Mitty’s passion for the environment is second to none, and we are thrilled to have her as a full-time member of our team.”
In her new position with the firm, Ms. Barnard will assist supervising attorneys with code enforcement, planning and zoning, and other land use issues related to the municipal clients it represents. This includes clients such as the Florida Green Finance Authority and the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council.
Ms. Barnard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science from the University of Florida, a Master of Science in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from Ball State University, and a Juris Doctor (environmental law focus) from Vermont Law School.
