On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, the Golf Village Council voted to deny online retail giant Amazon’s request to construct a warehouse storage and distribution center on a 17-acre parcel within the Village of Golf. The Amazon application included a proposed amendment to the Village’s land development regulations as well as a special exception use application. The Amazon application was vigorously opposed by surrounding communities, including the Delray Dunes HOA, which retained Davis & Associates, P.A. to oppose the request. The overriding argument against the Amazon application was the total incompatibility of the 24/7 warehouse, storage and distribution center operation with the established residential character of the surrounding area. Trey Nazzaro, Esq., of Counsel with Davis & Associates, P.A., working with Nilsa Zacarias of NZ Consultants, successfully argued against Amazon’s request.
